Our Philosophy
Pen Foundation International holds that the world, while separated by national and cultural boundaries, is truly one village. We all live amongst each other and are members of the same human race, connected now so more than ever by international economics and politics. Out of this, our philosophy of “building bridges” was developed. It is an initiative to those divided by culture, language, wealth disparity and official boundaries … from the Balkans, Bosnia, Kosovo; to the Trans Caucasian; to Southwest Asia; to the ancient land of the Middle East; to the West Africa's Sub Sahara; to the Nile and Mount Sinai, to the middle valleys of Kurdistan; to the Zagros Mountain and Persepolis, to the Balochistan and Sindh Indus River; to Western Afghanistan; to Hindu Kush; to the remote mountain tops of Tibet; to the monsoon-soaked swamp of Bangladesh; to India's sub continent, to the horn of Africa, Congo or in war torn Central Africa, to Southern Africa, to Southeast Asia (Cambodia or Vietnam); to East Timor; to Tasmania, to the Amazonian basin, to the tip of the calm mountain of Machu Picchu, to the rain forests of Costa Rica, to the lands of the Mayans and Aztecs, to the deep canyons of the Navajo nation, to the meadows of the Appalachians, to the Caribbean, to Newfoundland, to Ireland, and to the Danube River.
This vision of building bridges drives all of our actions at PFI and is something we hope to pursue through a variety of communication-building initiatives.
